An own goal in the final minutes of stoppage time ensure the Courage end their season with a victory, despite barely missing out on the playoffs. The end of the season also delivered Ashley Sanchez her first-ever Golden Boot trophy after scoring 20 goals this season, tied for most in a single season with Temwa Chawinga.
Kailen Sheridan also reached 700 career regular season saves, joining Alyssa Naeher and Jane Campbell as the only NWSL players to have ever reached the milestone.
