Today's video...is a bittersweet one; because as of recent, we've lost our voice acting legend Eric Bauza at the young age of 46, due to a bad case of hypertensive cardiovascular disease. Although I've never heard of him as a child, he has done numerous character voices for shows like Fairly Oddparents, Avatar, El Tigre, Chowder, Adventure Time, and up until recent: Looney Tunes Cartoons and The Day the Earth Blew Up. He is what many animation fans call as the modern day Mel Blanc; and ironically so, as he voiced many Looney Tunes characters in a unique quality that (although not up to Mel Blanc standards) did justice to the classic shorts. He brought his best work to those characters and keeping their legacies alive, and now it'll feel empty watching them knowing that he's not a part of them. We are deeply saddened by his unexpected passing, but we'll never forget how he was able to push the medium of animation forward (especially in this day and age where celebrities are being axed off left and right, and tech companies are forcing AI onto our lives). His legacy and impact on the animation industry will forever last a lifetime.
Rest easy, Eric. Thanks for everything.
But, onto the subject. Although Eric's no longer with us, he was proud to see one of his final projects get released onto the world; which was the widely known live-action/animation hybrid, Coyote vs. Acme. And in honor of his legacy and the film's miraculous box office success, I represent an opening portion of my homemade VHS recording to precede the film's forthcoming Blu-ray/DVD release.
Similarly to my last attempt with The Day the Earth Blew Up, I transferred the digital master file onto a DVD disc (this time around) and connected my Sony DVP-SR210P DVD player to the input of my JVC HR-S3911U VCR, and recorded the footage on a blank JVC XR T-120 tape to deliver that authentic VHS look. Afterwards, I captured the tape footage by connecting the VCR's S-Video output to my WinTV HVR-850 TV Tuner, exported the interlaced input in VirtualDub with the HuffYUV video codec, and converted the MP4 output in Hybrid with the QTGMC deinterlacer.
