Grand Theft Auto IV - What's The BEST Way To Play In 2026? A Look At EVERY Version and Mods on PC!

The GTA VI hype train is in full swing, which means a full replay of the entire Grand Theft Auto franchise between now and November... If you're a sicko. Like myself.

In the grand finale of my "Best Way to Play" video series, we take a look at GTA IV! Even though it's become something of a black sheep for the franchise over the years, with its more realistic feel and grounded storytelling, Niko's adventure through Liberty City remains a stone cold classic. To this day, it's STILL Rockstar's highest rated game EVER! There's absolutely no doubt that it still deserves to be played here in a modern day, as we stand here, one month away from the big launch of GTA VI.

The question must be asked: What's the best way to play GTA IV here in 2026? Sadly, even with all that critical and commercial success, GTA IV has NEVER received an updated, next gen port on modern consoles. Somehow, it remains trapped on the Xbox 360 and PS3, and the PC port is a god awful abomination. So in today's video, I've gone through every version of the game that has ever been released. We'll figure out the pros and cons of each version, platform by platform, console by console, and ultimately, decide on which is best to play here in 2026! How does the 2008 classic, originally released on the Xbox 360 and PS3, feel to play today?

After breaking down each official release of the game, we'll then take a look at the options available to us on the PC! It's time once again to jump into the wonderful world of MODS on the PC! Can the truly horrendous vanilla PC version of GTA IV have its technical issues fixed, and recapture that original artistic vision of the console versions, if we install the right mods? We'll take a look at that and so much more here in today's video!

As always thanks for watching and please look forward to DAILY GTA VI videos right here on the channel, starting on October 31 and then EVERY DAY until launch on November 19! It's gonna be a wild ride!
