President Trump and Vice President JD Vance announced a $25 million whistleblower program that provides a monetary reward for tips on fraud that result in a successful prosecution.
The Fraud Whistleblower Incentive Program allows for anyone to submit a tip through the website, fraud.gov, and receive a 1% commission if the tip recovers any money.
"If you turn somebody in, and you, let's say report, and you find a billion dollars, we are giving a commission to that person for 1%," the president said. "That's a lot of money."
President Trump added that he will be the "arbitrator" of all decisions in instances where there are disputes on who earns the reward in order to "expedite" the process.
"I'll determine whether or not the person is deserving and I will be very generous," he said.
