* Phase 1: Tentacles & Quick Sword Strikes
Ganryu opens the battle with rapid sword attacks while Gioh supports him with dangerous tentacle strikes.
Focus on parrying and deflecting Ganryu's quick sword combos to create openings for counterattacks.
Keep a suitable distance to bait his thrusts and jumping attacks. When Gioh's tentacles strike, time your parries to sever them temporarily and deal additional stamina damage.
* Watch Out for Gioh's Head Attacks
Gioh can slam her snake-like head toward Musashi and perform dangerous grab attacks.
Watch for the blue flash that signals a grab and prepare to react at the right moment. If caught, pay attention to the timing of the follow-up and respond with the appropriate defensive action.
Gioh can also attempt to absorb energy from flowers during the fight. When she starts feeding, shoot her in the head with your bow to interrupt the absorption and prevent her from becoming empowered.
* Phase 2: Strengthened Tentacles & Faster Combos
As the battle progresses, Ganryu becomes more aggressive, unleashing faster and more frequent sword combinations.
During this phase, Gioh's tentacles can no longer be severed, making defensive timing and stamina management even more important.
Maintain a medium fighting distance rather than retreating too far. This allows you to react to Ganryu's thrusts and jumping attacks while remaining close enough to punish his openings with an ascent or Issen.
If Ganryu begins recovering his stamina, fire a fully charged arrow to interrupt his recovery and maintain pressure.
* Phase 3: The Malice-Infused Sword
In the final phase, Ganryu draws a terrifying pink-glowing, Malice-infused sword, introducing new attacks that make the encounter even more dangerous.
He can unleash powerful energy waves that can be deflected. Watch his attack animations carefully and look for opportunities to counter, including positioning yourself behind him when appropriate.

Ganryu's final phase introduces a dangerous, high-speed dash attack that cannot be handled with a standard block.
Watch closely for the brief visual flash before he charges forward, then time your parry or deflect as he rushes toward you.
