What if an old $30 phone could become a fully functional gaming PC? Instead of throwing this Samsung A90 away, I decided to push it way beyond what it was designed for and turn it into a DIY tiny gaming pc.
This phone might be old, but there’s still a Snapdragon 855 hiding inside. That made it the perfect starting point for my DIY tiny gaming pc experiment.
But there were two major problems: performance and heat.
To get more power, I rooted the phone, pushed the CPU harder, and overclocked the GPU from its stock 584 MHz all the way up to 840 MHz. Of course, more performance means more heat, so my DIY tiny gaming pc also needed a serious cooling upgrade.
I added custom cooling, expanded the battery capacity, and redesigned the whole setup to make it feel more like a real miniature gaming computer than an old smartphone.
Once the DIY tiny gaming pc was finally assembled, it was time to see what it could actually do.
I tested games, benchmarks, external controls, and desktop-style gaming to find out how far the Snapdragon 855 could really be pushed.
Can this DIY tiny gaming pc actually deliver a decent gaming experience? And was all that modification worth it?
This project pushed an old phone way beyond its original limits, and the finished DIY tiny gaming pc turned out better than I expected.
Watch until the end to see the final DIY tiny gaming pc in action!
