Cocktail 2 asks a simple question: what happens when a perfectly settled relationship meets someone who doesn’t play by its rules? Kunal, a talented chef, and Diya, an architect, have been in a committed live-in relationship for almost ten years. Their comfortable routine gets shaken the moment they meet Ally, Diya’s glamorous and free-spirited old friend, and the love triangle that follows is messier than any of them expected.
Homi Adajania directs this spiritual sequel to the 2012 hit Cocktail, and it’s a fresh story with an entirely new lead cast, so you don’t need to have seen the original. Shahid Kapoor plays Kunal, a man caught between comfort and temptation, while Rashmika Mandanna plays Diya and Kriti Sanon plays Ally, the friend who walks in and changes everything. Set against the backdrop of London and Sicily, the film mixes romance, humour, and the tangles of friendship that the first film was loved for.
