Miranda Lambert joins the Rolling Stone Studio at our New York office to talk about blending country music and disco on her new album Crisco, out now. Along with making an album for country fans, Lambert says her other goal was to create songs that would be right at home at drag shows — according to the Texas native, that’s the epitome of success. She also lets us into her songwriting process and how her husband, Brendan McLoughlin, is slowly becoming a trusted collaborator in the writing room. Our conversation also, naturally, turns to the legacy of Dolly Parton: Lambert says she wouldn’t be where she is today without the influence of the icon.
