🎸 ABOUT THIS PROJECT
I dedicate this original track to my custom rig—which is, to all intents and purposes, a perfect "spaceship" that allows me to command basslines, chords, melodies, solos, and rhythms simultaneously.
This specific performance is driven by a strong funk-jazz and fusion groove, captured with a pure clean guitar tone and live foot drums. The core of every song relies heavily on the bassline and the groove. Being able to perform both in real-time is a true passion of mine; it grants me the freedom to study and create music in its deepest form, without compromising on any of these vital components. This is a creative canvas that no traditional or off-the-shelf instrument on the market can provide.
Driven by a quest for total musical self-sufficiency on stage, this project blends traditional fingerpicking with simultaneous two-handed tapping. Everything you hear is a 100% single live performance: NO loopers, NO backing tracks, and NO overdubs.
🔧 THE CUSTOM RIG & CONCEPT
This rig was custom-built and tailored around my specific physical and artistic needs to bridge the gap between the guitar and the piano tradition.
• The Instrument: Custom 14-string electric double-neck guitar (7+7 baritone). It features an asymmetric offset for ergonomic access and an 8-octave range matching a grand piano to handle bass, harmony, melody, and solos simultaneously.
• The Stand: Custom load-bearing metal stand that bears the full weight of the instrument to free my legs for total lower-body movement. This freedom is what physically allows me to precisely operate the foot drum kit without losing stability.
• The Foot Drums: Modular digital kit (up to 5 triggers in custom mahogany housings) handling the real-time rhythm section, calibrated using sensor profile differences to eliminate cross-talk.
