I've repaired hundreds of these machines, and Whirlpool just built the most interesting top-load washer I've seen in twenty years. They're claiming it'll last 30 years. I went through both spec sheets line by line, took it apart on the teardown viewer, and dug into the schematic to tell you what's really in there — the good, and the part they're hoping you skim past.
This is the new Maytag commercial washer everybody's been talking about, aimed square at Speed Queen. No sales pitch. No manufacturer talking points. Just straight answers from a repairman who's seen what fails and why.
📌 Model Number Note: The washer is the Maytag MTW8305T (MTW8305TW in white, MTW8305TF in Midnight Steel), with the matching dryer as MED8305T for electric and MGD8305T for gas. Maytag is a Whirlpool brand, so when I say one or the other, I'm talking about the same company. This machine is still preliminary and not on sale yet, so there's no price out of Maytag.
