This extraordinary documentary follows Iranian musician Hamid Said as he travels by motorbike through the southern province of Hormozgan along the Persian Gulf. His dream: to organize a concert bringing together the best black musicians in Iran.
The region known as Iran’s “Black South” has been deeply influenced by the descendants of African slaves, merchants, Persians, Arabs, Indians, and Europeans. While deeply rooted in Shiite Islam, many communities still preserve spiritual rituals and musical traditions connected to African culture.
As filmmaker Kamran Heidari accompanies Hamid on his journey, the documentary reveals a rarely seen side of Iran filled with rhythm, identity, struggle, and cultural fusion.
