“L'appel du Vide” is a two-and-a-half-minute blast of melodic hardcore and 00s metalcore, combining fast-picked riffs, snarling vocals, melodic passages and bouncing half-time breakdowns.
French for “the call of the void” , it's that strange impulse to jump when standing at the edge of a precipice. The song takes that feeling as a metaphor for the creeping dread of everyday life: looking ahead and seeing no end in sight, looking back and wondering what went wrong, and feeling the void closing in from both sides.
