Nuclear-powered submarine Omsk fires P-700 Granit missiles during Pacific Fleet exercise

The nuclear-powered submarine Omsk, a Project 949A Antey vessel — known by NATO as the Oscar II class — carried out a salvo launch of P-700 Granit anti-ship cruise missiles during a Russian Pacific Fleet exercise near the Kuril Islands.

The drills also involved the cruiser Varyag, which launched two Vulkan anti-ship missiles, and a Bastion coastal defense system, which fired an Oniks missile. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the simulated targets were positioned more than 300 kilometers away.
