WoW 2 is coming — and it's not Classic+. It's what Retail gets to become once Classic+ exists. Three predictions on the record before BlizzCon 2026.
THE THESIS
For twenty years, Blizzard's answer to "will there ever be a WoW 2?" was the Ship of Theseus: replace one plank at a time and you never need a second ship. That argument only works if you don't keep the original. WoW Classic+ (Project Camelot) is Blizzard keeping the original — the essence of World of Warcraft, Vanilla's world rebuilt and filled with new content, the front door for everyone who arrives through the Arthas game, the RTS, or the show. And the moment the original exists as its own product, Retail no longer has to carry it. It can finally take the big steps and become the new game. Classic+ isn't the sequel. It's the reason the sequel becomes possible.
