Record flooding hit Indianapolis and surrounding areas over the weekend, leaving several dead. Frank Grounder, who was hoping to celebrate his 37th birthday on Sunday, was instead surveying everything he lost. The furniture maker, who lives on the city’s north side, less than a mile from the overflowing White River, was at home watching as floodwaters crept up his driveway and into his home and workshop. Now he’s slogging through two feet of water , trying to salvage his belongings and his creations.
