In 2001, Toshiba created one of the thinnest laptops in the world, 7 years before the MacBook Air made ultra-thin laptops famous.
The Toshiba Dynabook SS2000M was an ambitious ultraportable machine that packed an incredibly thin design, a magnesium alloy body, and a surprising feature almost unheard-of at the time.
But after more than 25 years, can this tiny machine still function as intended?
In this video, I explore this forgotten piece of laptop history, restore it with a modern storage upgrade, bring back its original Windows 2000 experience, test its unique features, and see what this early ultraportable was really like to use.
Was Toshiba really ahead of its time, or was this laptop simply too early for the world?
