Second Deltarune remix down! Let me know what others you'd like to see in the future! Interestingly, I didn't particularly think much of Flower Man during my first playthrough (I think I was too preoccupied with trying to get used to the new orange soul mode because I'm an idiot LOL) but it was absolutely a song that grew on me over time (much like Flowery himself). Speaking of Flowey, he was such a phenomenally written character, and I loved the mirror of him trying to win in the end through genuine, even if naive, love rather than Flowey's cynical LOVE. I think his defeat provided an important lesson both to the Fun Gang and to us as people. Sometimes no matter how hopeless things seem, even if you're almost guaranteed to fail... you should fight anyway. Because any day could be your last, so you might as well live for love 🌻
[On the remix]: 🎵
This is the first time in a while that a track truly proved to be a challenge for me to remix while also not being frustratingly difficult and still a lot of fun! It really stumped me at first. I had absolutely no idea how I wanted to go about remixing this track. I knew I didn't want to repeat what so many others had done and do a 1:1 cover of the song with heavy metal instrumentation. As a result, I ran in the complete opposite direction and ended up incorporating elements from 4 different genres (Eurobeat, UK/happy hardcore, DnB, and orchestral), hah. I think it gives my remix a really unique sound, which I really appreciate. While working on this track I truly felt like I got to know Flowery on a much deeper level, and so, similarly to my Black Knife remix I wanted the arrangement to reflect that by sounding like it tells a story (hence why each section is different from each other). Also similarly to my From Now On remix the track doesn't loop like most of the others. And ofc I also went ahead and threw my Another Day in Autumn motif in there at the end ;) Speaking of which, I've been wanting to redo that song for a while now. Hmm... Anyway! In total, this one was 13 hours of work, and despite the struggle, it ended up being one of my favorite remixes to date!

I've really been enjoying my summer lately! I've taken up swimming again, which is the only sport I've ever played (and recreationally at that LOL) but I used to be really into it in middle and high school, and it's been nice to get some exercise again. Next up on my remix list should be Cutie Mew Mew Magic, although thanks to Materia's music policies it will likely have to be without Hatsune Miku's vocals, sadly. I'm also working on a remix of Sunset of Seven Suns, which will likely be the track I close out Chapter 5 with (appropriately). After that I'm not sure what I'm going to do! Likely go back to writing original Undertale AU/Deltarune music as well as remixing any other interesting fandom that might come along between now and Chapter 6.
