An official trailer has arrived for Yellow Letters (Gelbe Briefe), the powerful new film from the acclaimed Turkish-German director of The Teachers’ Lounge. Premiering next month and officially selected for the Main Competition at the 2026 Berlin Film Festival, the film offers a searing political portrait of our times.

After losing their jobs due to state arbitrariness, Derya and Aziz are forced to move in with Aziz’s parents in Istanbul, along with their 13-year-old daughter Ezgi. As their marriage, identity, and sense of belonging are pushed to the brink, the family must redefine what survival means in a system designed to erase them.

Inspired by real events in Turkey—but echoing globally—Yellow Letters gives voice to those stripped of their social status, dignity, and right to exist. A timely, unsettling, and deeply human story about fear, resistance, and silence.
