Anne Arundel County leaders still have concerns that the Empire Towers in Glen Burnie could collapse due to compromised beams and columns. Emergency leaders on Tuesday provided an update to the response after last week's evacuation. Anne Arundel County Emergency Management Director Preeti Emrick said the building was compromised during active and unpermitted construction work on the parking garage. No injuries were reported during Thursday's evacuation of about 100 occupants.
