Stinky, fishy smell around the Inner Harbor nothing afoul of concern, MDE says

A stinky, fishy smell around the Inner Harbor in Baltimore is nothing afoul of concern, state officials say. SKY 11 captured aerial video of the Inner Harbor Tuesday afternoon, showing the result of what the Maryland Department of the Environment called a pistachio tide. The harbor experienced a similar incident last summer. A pistachio tide is a type of sulfur bacterial bloom that, combined with low oxygen levels, led to last week's massive fish kill in the harbor. MDE officials said the green color in the water is likely an expansion of the pistachio tide from last week and that they are monitoring the situation.
