Two firefighters were transported to area hospitals after responding to a two-alarm fire in the Hampden neighborhood Saturday afternoon, according to the Baltimore City Fire Department. Officials say firefighters were dispatched to the 800 block of West 37th Street shortly after 5 p.m. and discovered a rowhome in the middle of the block with smoke showing. When the fire extended to neighboring homes, the Department says a second alarm was struck for additional resources. The two firefighters who were injured both sustained minor injuries, according to the Department. Officials say three homes in total were impacted; one was confirmed to be unoccupied. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
