A federal judge on Monday granted a motion to delay the start of a civil trial in the Key Bridge collapse. Attorneys were ready to proceed on the first day of the civil trial stemming from the 2024 bridge collapse. Court proceedings began with arguments over whether to delay the trial. The judge noted the claimants were not opposed and that both sides in the case actually agree on something — but for opposite reasons — that the civil trial should be put on hold because of a pending criminal trial.
