Election officials assure validity of votes amid ballot blunder

Maryland election officials shed light on new details into a ballot blunder and how they're ensuring every vote is counted correctly. The Maryland State Board of Elections is resending mail-in ballots to voters statewide after a printing error caused some voters to receive the wrong party's ballot ahead of the June 23 gubernatorial primary election. Out of caution, the SBE decided to replace all ballots for the state's 500,000 voters participating in mail-in voting. Experts say the problem was caught early enough that the issue shouldn't cause major problems for Election Day or for canvassing the ballots.
