Moore lets immigration bills become law sans signature

An immigration bill that nearly died in the General Assembly is among two measures that will become law without Gov. Wes Moore's signature. At the time of its passing, the Community Trust Act was celebrated as a major victory for immigrant families and it also drew criticism from sheriffs across Maryland. Maryland Gov. Wes Moore released a statement Friday stating, saying he supports the concept of the bill but that he believes it presents real implementation challenges and creates ambiguities around joint investigations.
