Maryland and Baltimore City leaders broke ground Monday on a $44 million project to provide homes and amenities for families in Park Heights. A new affordable housing project near Pimlico Race Course marks the start of construction on a development that has been eight years in the making. Shovels and buckets broke the dirt at the site of the Residences at Belvedere Place, which will feature 83 affordable apartment homes along with small business spaces and green areas. The state funded $36 million of the project through tax breaks and redevelopment funds.
