This development comes after a drone struck a nuclear power plant in the U.A.E. over the weekend, raising fears of a wider regional escalation. In a recent social media post, President Trump wrote, "FOR IRAN, THE CLOCK IS TICKING," warning of new attacks if they do not comply. Now, some Republican lawmakers are urging the president to take a harder line, saying that Iran is trying to delay negotiations rather than make a deal.
According to 'Axios', President Trump is expected to meet with his national security team tomorrow to discuss possible military options against Iran. Meanwhile back at home, the White House is facing additional pressure, balancing those concerns of escalating conflict as energy prices continue to rise.
