Baltimore Police are investigating a police shooting in South Baltimore Thursday morning. According to police, they received multiple calls about an possible suicide attempt around 9:12 a.m. Officers responded to the 800 block of Caton Avenue and found an armed person, who fired at the officers vehicle. Police said they stopped their vehicle and engaged with the person at gave them verbal commands to drop the weapon and get on the ground. Police said the suspect then continued to fire at officers and two officers returned fire, striking the person. The person was treated and taken to a hospital where he would be pronounced dead. Police said that a weapon was recovered and they are trying to determine who made the initial 911 call.
