In this Let's Play video, you will see me play Don't Freeze: A Winter Card Survival (Early Access). Don't Freeze is a Winter Survival Resource and Time management open world crafting game with roguelite elements. The game and interface is mostly resource management with actions to choose from that passes time based on your actions. Items are represented as cards similar to Stacklands in some ways. This is NOT a deckbuilder game. It's more of a decision making adventure survival game. In many ways, it's like the old school DOS text based adventure games where objects are represented on screen and your actions are button choices rather than typing in commands. It reminds me of "Zork: The Great Underground Empire". The story premise has you starting out in a Winter Environment where you survived a Plane Crash. You must scavenge and search for resources to stay alive. You'll be able to explore other areas around you to find more resources. You will need to setup a base camp and crafting stations. The game seems to have a story progression by completing the objectives to advance to the next chapter. When you die, there is a roguelite mechanic that lets you pick a perk or item when starting your next attempt. Don't Freeze: A Winter Card Survival has a lot of game mechanics that is similar to Don't Starve, Stacklands, Ways of Alchemy, Siege Survival: Gloria Victis, This War of Mine, The Wild Eight, Zork: The Great Underground Empire, Above the Snow, Frostpunk, Len's Island, Beyond the Map, Mayday: The Survival Island, "Into the Dead: Our Darkest Days", and Project Zomboid. How many days can you survive in Don't Freeze? I highly recommend this game.
