Bad weather today in the US!! Michigan and Wisconsin are buried under an unprecedented snowstorm.

The blizzard that hit several parts of the United States has officially broken records.
Photos and videos circulating widely on social media show the massive blizzard burying homes and vehicles in Wisconsin and Michigan.

A major winter storm is hitting the upper Midwest, bringing blizzard conditions and hazardous travel from Minnesota and Iowa to northern Michigan, and has even set at least one all-time snowfall record in parts of Wisconsin.

Marquette was one of the hardest-hit areas in Michigan's Upper Peninsula.
Several feet of snow are seen, creating hazardous travel conditions and forcing widespread road closures across the region.

Marquette is experiencing its third blizzard of the season, with severe winter weather expected to continue into the evening.
Current forecasts indicate the storm could dump more than three feet of snow before it ends, although strong winds are making it difficult to measure precise snowfall amounts.

Then in Wisconsin, in the Green Bay area, a snowstorm even broke the previous record set in 1889.

The recent snowfall marked the largest snowstorm in 136 years, with 26.1 inches of snow recorded in the city as of 1 p.m. on Monday.

On Sunday, the region recorded 17.1 inches of snowfall, and an additional 9 inches fell today.

According to the National Weather Service, the largest snowstorm ever in Wisconsin occurred on March 1 and 2, 1888, when 29 inches of snow were recorded.
The NWS said that 26 inches was also nearly half, or 47%, of their annual average of 55.6 inches.

Authorities in Michigan and Wisconsin have declared states of emergency since March 14, 2026, due to the intensity of this storm.

Lake-effect snow, combined with strong winds, has created snowdrifts exceeding six feet in open areas and along roadways.

“City officials are actively responding to weather conditions, prioritizing safety and access for emergency services.”

The storm has forced widespread closures across the community.
Most businesses and operations are closed, except those supporting emergency services or selling essential winter equipment like snow shovels or snow blowers.

Blizzard conditions are making travel and snow removal extremely difficult.
Officials are urging residents to stay off the roads unless they are essential workers.
Hundreds of accidents and stranded vehicles have been reported across the state.
