Another very cool indie with parry focused combat, we love to see it!

I think this game has the chance to be an incredible experience, if it can fix this one issue. Parry Windows and Anticipation Animations (or Anticipation Audio - Nine Sols, for example) are what combine to determine whether the combat is fair/able to be mastered. If you have a longer parry window, you can get away with having less clarity in your anticipation frames without it being unfair. Conversely, if you have a tight parry window your key frames need to be top-tier in order to maintain fairness in a precision-combat focused game.

Currently, I believe the parry timing (even disregarding animations) is just barely on the edge of fair reaction time. This gets exacerbated by many enemies having long delays in their last pose before instantaneously attacking, essentially removing the ability for players to learn the visual cues and making them solely reliant on internal timekeeping.

This is not only frustrating (even for someone like me), but it also doesn't feel rewarding when you finally do internalize those timings (if you're fortunate enough to be capable) because you didn't actually learn the enemy's movement patterns like a Sekiro dance, but rather some arbitrary timer.

This could be fixed by adjusting every enemy's anticipation animations, but seeing as the parry window itself is very demanding and the game is releasing in Q1 2026, I believe the best decision would be to adjust the parry window a bit.

With the enemy's ability to track you mid-combo and seeing some really diverse combos from Baran which are likely just the tip of the iceberg, you do not have to worry about the game losing its challenge.
