Granada awaits the worst.
The situation in Spain is critical due to Hurricane Leonardo.
In the provinces of Cádiz, Málaga, Granada, and Jaén, it is becoming complicated.
With rivers overflowing their banks, roads are flooded, roads are closed, and residents are trapped.
The most affected province is Granada, with 50 people evacuated in Santa Bárbara and major flooding in Benalúa de las Villas.
Hurricane Leonardo has hit Granada hard, which remains under an orange warning for coastal phenomena and heavy rain, and a yellow warning for wind in various areas.
Flooding, road closures, and stranded residents are the effects of the storm.
According to initial reports from the Fire Service of the Granada Provincial Council, several incidents have been recorded.
Large rockslides have fallen on highways, and road closures have occurred in several parts of the province.
Furthermore, the Milanos River in the municipality of Loja is nearing its overflowing.
Significant flooding has occurred in Valderrubio due to the overflowing of the Hondo ravine.
Flooding has also been reported in the municipalities of Montillana, Campotéjar, Huétor Santillán, Beas de Granada, Venta de Santa Bárbara (Loja), and Benalúa de las Villas.
Emergency services continue to work in the area, and residents are advised to exercise extreme caution and avoid unnecessary travel.
With the highest risk and concern due to Hurricane Leonardo hitting Granada,
Local mayor Joaquín Ordóñez announced that approximately fifty people from Santa Bárbara, a district of Loja, had to be evacuated this morning around 7:00 a.m., after the Neblín River overflowed its banks.
