Windows 11 January/February 2026 Update (KB5074105): What's New?

The first feature drop of 2026 is coming soon: the January (or early February) update for Windows 11 version 25H2 and 24H2 (KB5074105 - OS build 26200.7703 and 26100.7703 - Release Preview has 26200.7701 and 26100.7701), with several new features.

WebP images are now supported as wallpapers, so you can easily set .webp backgrounds now. Windows MIDI Services is finally shipping, with support for MIDI 2.0 and a rework of Windows' built in MIDI 1.0 implementation, and the taskbar has been improved with expanded Resume and a new autohide animation. There's also the ability to toggle Smart App Control (SAC) without clean installs, a new device card in Settings Home, improvements to voice access and Narrator, and more.
