"This 7.62x39mm RPKM "Red Bastion" variant entered Duty service under a revised security arrangement rather than simple surplus transfer. After a series of mutant breaches near restricted Military research sites, Duty proved more reliable at static defense and prolonged firefights than rotating conscript units. To stabilize the perimeter without committing additional troops, the Military authorized Duty to field heavy support weapons under strict inventory control. Chambered in 7.62x39mm, the Red Bastion favors decisive stopping power over finesse. It is outfitted with a reinforced drum magazine and a practical laser for low-visibility suppression. Compared to older RPKN models, this version features strengthened locking lugs and a heavier trunnion, making it significantly more durable under sustained fire. Brutal, loud, and unyielding, it reflects Duty's doctrine: hold ground, no matter the cost."
