Heavy rainfall from the cyclone has left much of Central Queensland, including Clermont, under water today, Monday, January 12, 2026.
A Queensland town recorded its wettest day in 110 years, as former Cyclone Koji battered parts of the state, with more than 200 millimeters of rain and flash flooding.
Authorities have issued a Flood Emergency Warning for the town of Clermont in Central Queensland, as much of the state is under flood alert following former Tropical Cyclone Koji.
And the city recorded more than 200 millimeters of rainfall in the 24 hours to 9 a.m. today, the city's wettest day since 1916.
Clermont residents have been told to monitor conditions and be prepared to move to higher ground.
The tropical low pressure system is weakening as it slowly moves northwest over land, but is still impacting towns in its path.
Isaac Regional Council Mayor Kelly Vea Vea said that properties in low-lying areas are being impacted.
"It's not at disaster levels yet, but we are being very cautious, and the danger is far from over," she said.
"There is a real risk of very heavy rainfall, which could cause flooding because the watershed is very full."
