As questions loom about what the future in Venezuela will look like and what the U.S. role will be, President Donald Trump on Sunday suggested he's got his eyes on other Latin American countries as well.
"Colombia is very sick, too. Run by a sick man who likes making cocaine and selling it to the United States. And he's not going to be doing it very long, let me tell you," Trump said during a gaggle on Air Force One
When asked if that meant another operation by the United States, Trump responded, "It sounds good to me."
Columbia had already begun beefing up its military presence at its borders.
A Colombian army commander told CNN that among their top priorities will be defending their territory and national sovereignty.
Meanwhile, Greenland has once again been mentioned by the president as necessary for U.S. national security.
And once again, Mexico is on high alert after this comment from Trump about drug traffickers.
“You have to do something with Mexico. Mexico has to get their act together because they're pouring through Mexico and we're going to have to do something. We'd love Mexico to do it. They're capable of doing it, but unfortunately, the cartels are very strong in Mexico," Trump told reporters.
Mexico’s President, Claudia Sheinbaum, spoke out against the U.S. operation in Venezuela.
