Home Alone is a 1990 American Christmas comedy film directed by Chris Columbus and written and produced by John Hughes. The film stars Macaulay Culkin as Kevin McCallister, an eight-year-old boy who is accidentally left behind when his family goes on vacation for Christmas. While initially enjoying his independence, Kevin must defend his home from two burglars, the Wet Bandits, using a series of ingenious traps.
