Join JP Group Club in Anaheim, California, as Mads visits @EMPI_Inc – one of the world’s biggest suppliers of classic VW parts. We start in the machine shop, where PMO carburettors and performance cylinder heads are machined on site, then dive into EMPI’s 170,000 sq ft warehouse packed with parts for Beetles, buses and air-cooled Porsches.
We meet Henry and his Porsche-olive Cal-Look ’67 Beetle with heated seats, 235 hp from an EMPI-built engine and period details like a pull-out Alpine cassette deck. Then Chuck shows us his Manx-style dune buggy, built to take his family off-roading in the desert and on the beach, and packed with prototype EMPI cooling and engine parts.
Rob walks Mads through EMPI’s performance cylinder heads, “beam in a box” front ends and the philosophy of restomod: classic silhouettes with more power, better brakes and modern reliability for real-world driving.
