Season 3, Episode 8: On a cold January day in Big Bear, California, the macabre discovery of an abandoned mattress under the snow reveals the bodies of Richard Chrison and his girlfriend Shana T. Sergeant Garrup of the San Francisco Sheriff's Department identifies the prime suspect: drug dealer and gang member Archie Woods. At Woods' home, detectives find a suspiciously clean scene with fresh paint and tire tracks. To see what the paint is hiding, expert David Stockwell uses an alternate light source, a powerful laser beam, and the innovative light painting technique to photograph invisible bloodstains. The pattern revealed on the wall shows arterial bleeding, proving that Chrison and T. were shot to death while lying defenseless in bed.
