SpaceBourne 2 - The Forgotten Space Sim Goes 1.0!

SpaceBourne 2 is finally leaving Early Access - with the developers targeting a full 1.0 release on November 18th - and it might just be one of the most ambitious indie space sims out there. In this LT Gaming feature, I take a deep dive into what the game is, why it’s worth playing in 2025, and how the huge 1.0 update is set to transform the experience.

After spending over 25 hours with SpaceBourne 2 this week, I break down the fast-paced space combat, the surprisingly fun empire management system, and the immersive touches like radio chatter, warp jumps, and those incredible screenshot moments. I also go through what the 1.0 patch brings: rebuilt factions, a redesigned HUD, better missions, new dungeons and stations, deeper diplomacy, gamepad support, upgraded SFX/FX, and completely re-recorded voice acting.

But it’s not all perfect — the game is still buggy, the ground gameplay needs love, and the Early Access voice acting was famously rough. So this video is an honest look at where the game shines, where it struggles, and whether SpaceBourne 2’s 1.0 launch is worth your attention.
