Mary's Gothic novel took the world by storm, and the tale of Victor Frankenstein and his Monster has been passed on from one generation to another like a treasured heirloom. Soon, Frankenstein was not just restricted to the printed pages, and hundreds of adaptations now feature Frankenstein's Monster, but when Guillermo del Toro stepped up to show the world his rendition, he blew our minds. Del Toro portrayed Frankenstein's Monster in the most human and heartfelt way possible, exploring the psychological and emotional layers that were buried deep in an otherwise monstrous narrative. The director left no stone unturned to make his movie a masterpiece, and yes, I concur. Frankenstein personified cinema.
