Parents concerned over plans to open emergency homeless shelter near elementary school

Parents and community members are concerned over the city's plans to turn a closed elementary school into a temporary emergency homeless shelter. The plan would turn the Edgewood Elementary School building into an overnight overflow site during "Code Purple" emergencies from November to March. People will be bussed to the shelter, according to the plan. The site is located next to the KIPP Baltimore Academy, a charter school. Parents are concerned.
