More Baltimore City schools earned top ratings and almost half of schools across the state earned the top two ratings in the 2025 Maryland School Report Card. The Maryland State Department of Education on Tuesday released state, district and school-level results, showing 43% of schools earned four- or five-star ratings, which is up 2% from last academic year and up 3% from the year prior. The percentage of schools receiving three or more stars also increased over the years, reaching 86% in 2024-25. That's up 3% from the year prior and 6% the year before that. Across the state and among 891,553 students enrolled, the data shows a 91.9% attendance rate.
