Whizzing among the stars, the long-range Liutyi can travel up to a staggering 1,000km - double the distance of traditional drones.
The impressive devices are built from random parts in a network of Ukraine's workshops.
Their sleek and simple bodies are a reflection of the country's "no frills" philosophy to warfare and have become a source of national pride to Ukraine.
Fidel, a commander at a secret Ukrainian launch site, told Euro News: "Drones are evolving. Instead of flying 500 kilometres, now they fly 1,000.
