Entertainment District Unit responds to Fells Point shooting

Two people are recovering after a shooting happened shortly before many bars in Fells Point closed Sunday morning. WBAL-TV 11 News talked to residents in the area after gunfire erupted at a popular spot, especially on Halloween weekend. Ivan Zeinoun works inside a bar around the square in Fells Point when those gunshots were happening. "I think everyone was frightened," Zeinoun said, "The club, I guess, was so loud that I didn't hear it." Baltimore police said two people, a 17-year-old girl and a 24-year-old man, were shot on the 700 block of South Broadway. They were both sent to hospitals for treatment and their condition is unknown. "I don't understand how the violence got so heavy down here," resident Malcolm Lemon, who frequents Fells Point, said. "I think that's a terrible thing that anybody would get shot but that wouldn't stop me from coming here. Here I am today," another resident named Deb said. According to police, shots were fired around 1:30 a.m. Sunday, about a half hour before area bars closed their doors. Isaiah Williams just opened his wellness shop in Fells Point, which sits a few hundred feet away from where police set up their crime scene.
