Baltimore County is dedicating $4 million toward food assistance for federal workers and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) recipients. County Executive Kathy Klausmeier announced the funding on Friday, the eve of when federal funding for SNAP benefits was set to run out amid the continuing federal government shutdown. The announcement came before federal judges ruled that the Trump administration must to continue to fund SNAP using contingency funds.
