Baltimore County police said detectives charged a former nurse with rape involving a teenager who was being treated at Sheppard Pratt. Michael Cabanalan, 35, was charged with second-degree rape and other sex offenses, county police said on Tuesday. Cabanalan, who was employed as a nurse, remains in custody at the Baltimore County Detention Center without bond, police said. Detectives with the Crimes Against Children Unit said the alleged incidents occurred over the first week of September after the victim was treated at Sheppard Pratt, according to charging documents obtained by WBAL-TV 11 News Investigates.
