Dense breasts are connected to cancer

Women who don't know their breast density should ask their doctors about it. Dr. Falguni Patel, a radiologist and breast imaging physician with The Tyanna O'Brien Center for Women's Imaging at Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore, said everyone has a different breast density, and it has nothing to do with the size of one's breasts. Patel said there's about a 5% higher risk of getting breast cancer for those with dense breasts. Women who get a mammogram will also learn their breast density on the report.
