Catherine Connolly vows to be an inclusive president

Catherine Connolly has been declared the winner of the Presidential Election, securing more than 63% of the first preference votes.

In her speech, she pledged to be "an inclusive president for all", but also said she would speak out on some of her campaign themes.

Ms Connolly has been congratulated by outgoing President Michael D Higgins, Taoiseach Micheál Martin and Tánaiste Simon Harris.
