Hundreds of state workers who took a voluntary buyout are about to receive money they can't spend. The Maryland Board of Public Works on Wednesday approved the buyouts of hundreds of state employees. More than 300 employees left their roles in September and their positions were eliminated thereafter. WBAL-TV 11 News Investigates confirms the vast majority of state workers who took a voluntary buyout are going to receive more money than they expected — but they can't keep it.
