The Doors ‘Whisky Bar’ played on my 1912 Marxophone.. 🎶 This rare relic (a piano, dulcimer hybrid) was sold door-to-door a century ago. It’s eerie, chiming sound helped shape songs like “Those Were the Days” and ‘Whiskey Bar’ (this song) by The Doors. Shout out to restoration specialist extraordinaire @sprobocop1459 Geoff Cabrera. He didn’t just straighten and rebuild the warped body, he refinished it, found original decals and parts, and breathed life back into it -he even sealed the lead hammer keys with a protective coating to prevent toxicity. Gotta love this uniquely, spooky carnival sound. 🎵
